The hotel belongs to the religious cooperative seat Nir Etzion. The moshav was established in 1950. The founders of the settlement were the remains of Kibbutz Kfar Etzion, which fell to the Jordanians during the War of Independence. He was later joined by friends from all over the world. Today the seat has about 80 families. In its early years, the Nir Etzion Hotel served as a relaxing home, and later became a sanatorium, a guesthouse, and is now a luxurious hotel and conference center.
