Edgar goes on vacation with his mother in the resort town of Zemmering in Austria. To the hotel where they are staying comes a young baron looking for a love adventure. The baron endears himself to Edgar the child - with the aim of reaching the mother's heart through him. Little by little, the boy notices the relationship between the baron and his mother, and feels cheated. At the end of the vacation, upon their return home, the upset Edgar realizes that there is a secret he must keep.
