In 15th century Venice, Giorgione 'Zorzo' Barbarelli is a young painter mired in debt. When a rumor reaches him about a new and mysterious pigment, one that will differentiate his paintings from those of other painters and bring him wealth and fame, he sets out to get the pigment in question and perpetuate his name in the history books.
