In June 1940, Marion, a Jewish refugee from Vienna, is forced to flee from the terror of the approaching German army to Paris, the city where she found refuge. She escapes to Marseilles hoping to find a ship that will take her out of Europe. On the way she meets Kurt, a Jewish refugee like her, but soon they part ways.
